Randy Travis' wife stated that her husband's operation was a huge success, thus he was able to go back in going his first love, singing. Mary Davis Travis, Randy's wife, stated that her husband stayed in the hospital for six months when he underwent stroke which was caused by a viral infection.
"Randy stared death in the face, but death blinked," Davis-Travis said. "Today, God's proof of a miracle stands before you."
Alan Jackson, who was also one of the performance for that night was also pleased with Randy Travis' performance. Jackson then added that Travis is one of the most influential musicians as he managed to have a great pull on music lovers as he ignited their passion for country music.
"When he sang, the women were screaming and fainting, and it was crazy," Jackson told NBC. "I loved it. Someone singing real country music and having that effect and selling all those records, it just made me so happy."
