There's no need to introduce further Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto franchise. By far, it is one of the most prolific and most addictive open-world, role playing game out in the market. But with the success of Grand Theft Auto 5, Rockstar Games is now on the hot seat as fans are wondering why Grand Theft Auto 6 is taking too long to develop.
As per GameNGuide, Rockstar Games made us want to believe that they are concentrating on Grand Theft Auto 5. Apparently, they did: the title, according to GTA 6 Grand Theft Auto, accumulated for $800million on its first day on the shelves and an unbelievable $1billion on just its third day. The stats speak for themselves, but anticipation for yet another blockbuster hit is now brewing.
Neurogadget believes that Grand Theft Auto 6 could be more than its predicted budget. Rockstar Games shed around $265million to develop Grand Theft Auto 5. It's not that surprising considering the return of investment it garnered in just a couple of days. If Rockstar Games plans to do better and surpass Grand Theft Auto 5, it will most likely add more to Grand Theft Auto 6's budget. Virtual Reality is another viable option: the feature has been widely recognized by modern games as well as mobile peripherals, to say the least. Should Grand Theft Auto 6 incorporate VR, its allocation could shoot "up to $300million" to develop the game.
Grand Theft Auto 6's release date is more on the tricky side. Some say that it could be up for release on 2018 if it considers Rockstar Games' 5-year strategy. Some say that it could stretch to 2020. The developer has yet to put in a word as to when it will be released, much less if gaming gurus have started developing the Grand Theft Auto 6. But somewhere between those years, a spinoff could appear, like Grand Theft Auto: Liberal City Stories in 2005. Other than that, we're all floating on the details.
