Thousands of students are reportedly failed by the American education system as most of them remained uneducated in terms of the communism that happened in the country. It was mentioned that the educational system did not only fail the younger generation academically but it was reported that students of this generation have minimal to zero knowledge when it comes to communism.
It was revealed that as little as 42 percent of millennials are in favor of capitalism compared to the 64 percent of the people more than the age of 65. The Daily Signal revealed that only 37 percent of millennials are aware of Joseph Stalin's dictatorship that promoted communism as reported by the American Civics Literacy.
The Daily Signal then highlighted that Thomas Jefferson once emphasized that the younger generation, mostly the students, need to be taught of the dark past and the history of communism. He then mentioned and even wrote that educators need to teach students history as early as possible.
"By apprizing them of the past will enable them to judge of the future; it will avail them of the experience of other times and nations," Isaac Newton once wrote. "It will qualify them as judges of the ambitions and designs of men; it will enable them to know ambition under every disguise it may assume, and, knowing it, to defeat its views."
The surprising results of the millennials lack of knowledge in terms of the dark past of communism are being pointed out as lack of education. It was then mentioned that it would be unfair to put blame on millennials in terms of pointing a finger at the former president, George W. Bush for taking more lives instead of the barbaric communist Joseph Stalin.
The lack of education in terms of communism urged the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation to organize a movement that would educate, memorialize and spread awareness. The dark ages of communism need to be taught in schools, not just for the sake of history but for the younger generation to understand the value you capitalism and the dark side of communism.
