The new downloadable content for "Dark Souls 3” called “Ashes of Ariandel” accidentally came out for the Xbox One ahead of its supposed release date. It was confirmed by numerous players who were able to install "Ashes of Ariandel" days before its launch date.
Twitter was flooded with posts from players with #DarkSouls3, verifying the game is live.
The initial date for the launching of "Ashes of Ariandel" for players was supposedly on October 25, but according to a number of "Dark Souls 3" gamers, the downloadable content pack was made available last October 22. According to Gamespot, players of "Dark Souls 3" posted on Reddit that they were able to download "Ashes of Ariandel" but only for those with an Xbox One season pass.
Players who were on Steam and on the Playstation 4, however, did not have the same luck as the download was not yet available for them. Bandai Namco released a statement regarding the early and unexpected release of "Ashes of Ariandel," saying that it was a logistics error that led players of "Dark Souls 3" on the Xbox One to get the early download. The problem has since been corrected, and now, "Ashes of Ariandel" will be available on October 24, 2016, at 3 PM PDT for Steam players and 9 PM PDT on the same day for console players.
IGN recently gave "Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel" a review, calling the DLC an appetizer, rather than a full course meal. "The Painted World of Ariandel presents a land that's both enticing and dangerous," says IGN, adding that there are plenty of difficult challenges to face even if you don't have to face them that often. The DLC currently holds a score of 7.8 on the site.
"Ashes of Ariandel" is just the first of two downloadable content packs from "Dark Souls 3" with the next one to be released soon.
