'X-Men: Apocalypse' Cast & Trailer: 'Storm' Film In The Works? Halle Berry Talks About Doing Solo Movie

X-Men fans are surely excited with "X-Men Apocalypse," the follow-up to "X-Men Days of Future Past,' but it will still be almost a year of waiting until the film premieres because the casts are still currently shooting.

The X-Men franchise is considering a new breed of younger stars for the next installation of one of the most well-loved movies of all times. Director Bryan Singer confirmed that "X-Men Apocalypse" is a kind of conclusion of the six X-Men films, but a potential rebirth to the next installation with younger and newer characters. Singer said, "This is the true birth of the X-Men. This is how it happens," Entertainment Weekly has learned.

Among the confirmed cast members are James McAvoy as Charles, Michael Fassbender as Erik/Magento, Jennifer Lawrence as Raven/Mystique, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Nicholas Hoult as Hank/Beast. They will be joined by new actors, Tye Sheridan ("Mud"), Sophie Turner ("Game of Thrones") and Alexandra Ship ("Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B"), who will be portraying the young Cyclops Jean and Storm respectively, Den of Geek reports. Olivia Munn will play Psylocke while Oscar Isaac will play the titular villain, Apocalypse. Check out a video of Munn working out for her new role below.

There are also speculations that the award-winning singer and songwriter, Taylor Swift, will be joining the movie as the superheroine, Dazzler. Dazzler, whose actual name is Alison Blaire, is born with superpowers and talent in music. She is skilled in converting sound vibrations into light and energy beams while enjoying a successful career in singing, Yibada notes.

Rumors started when movie producer, Simon Kinberg, posted a photo in Twitter with Swift, Turner and McAvoy, which he captioned with, "Haters gonna hate." There are no confirmations yet if the"Blankspace" singer will join the rest of the cast, but her fans love the idea. Most of them actually think the photo is already a confirmation that Tay will play Dazzler, International Business Times reports.

On the other hand, the original Storm character, Halle Berry, is open to making a solo movie for Storm. "In a heartbeat I would do a Storm movie. I love that character through and through. So if that ever became an opportunity for me if it's before I'm 65-years old I would absolutely do that," Berry told Deadline when asked if she is interested'.

Jackman got his own films for Wolverine while a Gambit movie starring Channing Tatum is currently filming. The 48-year-old award-winning actress is urging fans to speak up if they love to see Storm in her own film. "If the fans want that the fans need to speak up and I'm sure it would be a possibility. If Fox felt like they could make money off of a Storm movie I'm sure they would do it," she adds in the interview.

The latest X-Men installment, "X-Men Apocalypse," is set in 1983, a full decade after the past events of "X-Men Days of Futur Past." In this film, Professor Charles Xavier and the X-Men battle the power and influence of godlike Apocalypse, who is plotting a world destruction.

The anticipated movie will hit the big screens on May 27, 2016.
