Channing Tatum on Fatherhood : 'That [will] be the biggest role of my life'

Channing Tatum is planning to be a model dad. The 32-year-old actor, who is expecting his first child with wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum, opened up about his impending fatherhood with People magazine recently.

"That [will] be the biggest role of my life. I hope I don't screw that one up," the dad-to-be told People magazine. The actor was attending a promotional program, organized as part of his new movie "Side Effects".

During the chat, Tatum also revealed his desire to dedicate more time to his family after his child's arrival.

"I hope to slow to down a little bit when the little person comes into the world," he said.

The "Magic Mike" star met "The Playboy Club" actress during the shooting of the movie "Step Up" in 2006. The couple, who got engaged in 2008, tied the knot the following year in California. The couple announced their pregnancy in December 2012.

"Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Channing Tatum are pleased to announce that they are expecting the birth of their first child next year," the actor's rep told Us Weekly.

The baby is due in summer. The couple have always wanted children.

"I'm ready; I think she's ready," Tatum told People. "The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we'll see where we go after that."

Tatum, who started his career with a music video released in 2000, shot to fame with his roles in movies like "Dear John" and "21 Jump Street".
