Veronica De La Cruz is going to be a mom. The baby is due in March.
The 32-year-old popular television news anchor confirmed the news to People magazine.
"I am so thrilled to be having this baby, I am extremely family oriented so this is the culmination of a lifelong dream," De La Cruz told People magazine. "After the pain and devastation of losing my brother Eric in 2009, it is a miracle to be able to add to our family in this way."
De La Cruz's brother Eric, who failed to receive a health insurance, died while awaiting a heart transplant.
This is the first child of Cruz, who hosts NBC's "Early Today" show and MSNBC's "First Look". Congratulatory messages from fans and well-wishers have been pouring into the TV personality's Twitter and Facebook account since she confirmed the baby news. The mom-to-be also took an effort to thank each and every one who shared happiness with her.
"Congrads your going to be a great parent," one of the fans wrote, while the expecting mom replied, "Thx, excited 2 b a mommy <3 RT"
"Nothing like it, so much joy & unconditional love coming your way," another Twitter follower wrote, and the journalist replied, "It's an honor 2 add "mom" to the list!!"
Later she posted a post card, sharing her excitement over her impending motherhood and due date. "Baby will be here soon!!!! Thank you for all your love and support <3 <3 <3," she Tweeted.
The post card read: "Some Excitement News! Oh how I have waited so long to say I have a little one on the way! A Baby is expected to arrive in March 2013. Love, Veronica."
