Miley Cyrus News: 'Wrecking Ball' Singer's Performance In Bull Murray Tribute Is A Wreck?

During the tribute for Bill Murray at Washington D.C's Kennedy Center, Sunday night, Miley Cyrus botched her performance. Fortunately, the event was taped and the "Wrecking Ball" singer was able to do a redo.

During her performance in the tribute for Bill Murray, Miley Cyrus forgot the lyrics to a Murray-laden rendition of "My Way". Miley Cyrus, in between spouting profanities and apologies, pressed on her song. The "Party In The USA" singer then blurts out "she [Miley Cyrus] got too stoned".

By happy chance, Bill Murray was cool with it. The comedic actor comforted Miley Cyrus and jokingly quipped that this mishap could only happen that night in Washington. Miley Cyrus was able to do a redo and the second time around finished her performance without a hitch.

Bill Murray and Miley Cyrus started their friendship when Miley appeared in Bill Murray's Netflix special, "A Very Murray Christmas". Bill Murray has said he thought Miley Cyrus was just some "knucklehead crazy girl" but is actually a really good singer. In an interview with New York Daily, Bill Murray has also said that Miley Cyrus really impressed everyone working in his Netflix holiday special.

Last Sunday, Bill Murray was honored with the 19th Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The actor was honored and roasted by colleagues like Jimmy Kimmel, Sigourney Weaver, Aziz Ansari, Jane Curtin, Steve Martin and David Letterman.

Prior to the ceremony, Bill Murray had a busy week. He met with Barack Obama to talk about golf, crashed a briefing at the White House to talk about the Chicago Cubs, shared a meal with Justice Sonia Sotomayor and showered the Saturday night rehearsal dinner with a play-by-play of the Cubs.

You can catch the PBS special with Miley Cyrus' "stoned" performance on October 28. Check your local listing for the time.
