"Mass Effect Andromeda," one of BioWare's biggest project to date, which is designed for the next generation consoles, may not come to the newly announced Nintendo Switch. In a recent thread on Twitter, a follower asked Michael Gamble, producer of the "Mass Effect" series, who confirmed that the game will support PC, Neo, PS4 and X1 platforms only. However, without the full specifications of the upcoming console, the possibility of BioWare's famous series' on the Nintendo Switch is still possible.
"Mass Effect Andromeda" is a totally different timeline that takes place long before the events of the first three "Mass Effect" installments, hence, the name. The game's development was announced in Los Angeles, California, during the E3 2014 convention. The Mass Effect Universe is vast and has been getting bigger since the first game was introduced in 2007. The series consists of interplanetary characters and multiple endings, which rely on the player's decision-making skills in critical situations scattered throughout the game.
"Unreal Engine 4," which is the latest version of the Unreal Engine tool and one of the leading game engine used by developers, announced their partnership with Nintendo thru their Twitter page stating: "We're thrilled to partner with Nintendo to help Unreal Engine 4 developers bring their games to Nintendo Switch!" On the other hand, "Mass Effect Andromeda" is said to utilize Dice's "Frostbite 3" game engine, the engine used to develop "Battlefield 4" and the recently released "Battlefield 1."
The possibility of "Mass Effect Andromeda" not running on the Nintendo Switch console is still debatable due to the fact that the complete specifications were not yet revealed to the public, and Nintendo just happens to be one of the most innovative among the three biggest console manufacturers on the planet. The Nintendo Switch console may still have a couple of tricks right up its sleeve.
