Both Paul George and Demarcus Cousins have been subject to several trade rumors, but none of the speculations actually came about. With the start of the regular season, loose lips still suggest a possible move for both George and Cousins.
According to The Christian Times, The Boston Celtics are still pushing to acquire the service of George, and are willing to trade six players for the three-time NBA all-star. The six players are rumored to be Jae Crowder, Amir Johnson, Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, and two first round draft picks. Along with George, the Celtics will reportedly get Monta Ellis in return for the six players.
Sportsrageous reports that the deal will not only involve George, but also the Sacramento Kings center, Demarcus Cousins going to the Pacers. If the deal pushes through, the Celtics will acquire George, Ben McLemore from the Kings, and a first round draft pick from the Pacers.
For the Pacers, they will obtain Cousins from the Kings, and Crowder from the Celtics. The Pacers will also get a first round draft pick in 2017 from the Brooklyn Nets (via Boston).
In the case of the Kings, they will gain Brown, Smart, and Johnson from the Celtics. Along with the three players, they will also receive a first round draft pick for the 2018 NBA draft from the Nets (via Boston).
According to Headlines & Global News, as far as the ESPN NBA Trade Machine is concerned, the trade is valid based on the rules and restrictions. The deal involves franchise players such as George and Cousins, as well as regular starters.
If the deal is sealed, the Pacers, and the Kings would have to give up their respective franchise players namely George and Cousins. The Pacers firmly believe that George can bring glory to the Pacers in the near future.
The Kings, though they will lose Cousins, will get an upgrade to every position they will acquire in the trade. It is worth noting, however, that none of these players will make a significant impact.
In a report by the Christian Post, the Celtics will allegedly get the most out of the deal. If the deal is sealed, the Celtics will acquire the service of George in addition to a young prospect like McLemore.
However, for the Pacers, they will find difficulty in rotating Cousins, Myles Turner, and Al Jefferson if the trade does come to being. The Kings will not be getting too much value in releasing Cousins and McLemore for Brown, Smart, and Johnson from the Celtics.
Even so, the trade is still mere speculation, and nothing is confirmed. If materialized, will the deal be beneficial for all three teams?
