Parent Herald cites reports that Kublai Khan will have his new enemy hot on his heels at "Marco Polo" Season 3. Specifically, the mysterious Prester John, first mentioned in "Marco Polo" Season 2 Episode 4, will come after Kublai Khan.
Unfortunately for Kublai Khan and Marco Polo, they may be facing their most dangerous enemy yet in Prester John come Season 3. As a foretaste, the "Marco Polo" Season 2 finale displayed the emptied out camp of the Mongols in Xanadu with the bloody staff of Prester John driven into the ground.
However, the threat of Prester John in "Marco Polo" Season 3 may not even be necessary to take Benedict Wong out as Kublai Khan. "Marco Polo" star Benedict Wong may be on his final turn as Kublai Khan in Season 3.
At the moment, Benedict Wong is on international screens as "Wong" in the Benedict Cumberbatch-led "Doctor Strange" from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Up next for the "Marco Polo" star is "Avengers: Infinity War," again as Wong, alongside Doctor Strange according to Comicbook.
The "Marco Polo" star will also be likely in "Thor: Ragnarok" as Benedict Cumberbatch teased in "Doctor Strange." As Marvel fans know, where Doctor Strange goes, the "Marco Polo" star will also have to go.
At best, Benedict Wong joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe may draw more viewership for Netflix on "Marco Polo" Season 3. At the moment, "Marco Polo" does not only enjoy the title being one of the most expensive Netflix originals.
