'Captain Marvel' News: Brie Larson Casts As First Female Captain? More Rumors Ahead

In the 21st movie installment of Marvel Universe, a decision was made to represent a superhero. This superhero had once appeared as a supporting character in Chris Claremont's storyline of the X-men. Ms Marvel is a former a member of US Air Force who will now have a solo movie as "Captain Marvel."

Captain Marvel's real character name is Carol Denver. In a Marvel story during the aftereffects of "Civil War," her name appeared in comic books around the year 2000 as a field leader of avengers.

Since the introduction of "Captain Marvel" in 1968 up until the movie plot, Hollywood had been looking forward to who's going to star as "Captain Marvel."

Digital Spy reported that Rebecca Ferguson was rumored to be in the talks for the leading role of "Captain Marvel." However, she was tossed out, making way for Brie Larson, who was confirmed slated for the title role. Other contenders in direct were Niki Caro and Jennifer Kent.

According to the movie's producer Kevin Feige, the debut of this new female superhero will be supported by a female director as well. The female-on-female merge raises questions as to how the director will approach the film from every angle.

Despite the movie solo's plot to follow the trend of Marvel Cinematic Universe, changes are still to be anticipated. The director chosen for the movie according to Cinema Blend is none other than Reed Morano. The 39-year old cinematographer and director set forth for a little adaptation of the movie.

It was later explained by screenwriter Nicole Perlman as to why they may have to adjust the storyline. Her concern is that the storyline of "Captain Marvel" is closely similar to the storyline of "Green Lantern."

While the movie project is ongoing, the fans of Marvel superheroes are waiting for its initial release by 2018. There is no doubt about one thing, both Reed Morano and Brie Larson are no strangers to a life going down the tubes.
