A tragic crash in Scotland last night took the life of a 14-year old girl and injuring three other teens. The mom of the teen, who died in the accident, has spoken of her devastation today.
Neringa Narusyte died after the black Vauxhall Corsa she was traveling on smashed into another car in a winding road. Independent Buckie councilor Gordon Cowie said to The Sun that there had been several accidents on the road where the tragedy happened.
The tragic collision happened in B9016 Keith to Buckie road near Moray, Scotland. It was estimated to have occurred at 10.38pm yesterday.
"The road has claimed two or three lives in the past. I wouldn't say it is a dangerous stretch of road but it is a road where you have to take a lot of care on, there are a lot of bends on it," The Sun quoted Councilor Cowie as saying.
Devastated mom, Ilona Narusyte, 34, said to Sun that the daughter will always be remembered as a nice lovely girl. She expressed her grief and spoke about her still unable to believe that the daughter is already gone.
"I still can't believe that she's gone. She liked speed, going on rollercoasters and that sort of thing. Anything thrilling." She said.
Another girl, also 14, is reportedly fighting for her life in hospital as well. Two other girls, aged 16 and 17 had serious injuries but are already under stable conditions. The driver, a 17-year-old boy, just suffered from minor injuries. The 42-year-old driver carrying the gray Nissan Terrano suffered minor injuries as well.
The Narusytes moved to the Moray coast 11 years ago from Lithuania. The late Neringa had lots of friends according to older sister Erika, 17, whom she has now left along with her baby brother who is just 10-month old.
Youths today have risk-taking behavior and can lead to risky driving, smoking, drugs and others. Research suggests that the teen's risk-taking behavior is due to uneven activity in the brain of teenagers.
What happened to the tragic car crash with the teens in Scotland has no clear explanation yet. Police officers' investigation is still ongoing especially that the other teens are recovering.
