George Clooney, Wife Amal Alamuddin Expecting a Baby? Nursery Added to Family Home

Hollywood actor George Clooney once said that having children is not a priority for him and his wife Amal Alamuddin, as previously reported by Parent Herald. But it looks like the actor and philanthropist is having a change of heart.

A source close to the couple has revealed that 54-year-old George and 37-year-old Amal have decided that now is the best time to start a family. "Amal isn't taking on extra work at the moment and just continuing with the cases she has," a source said via Us Magazine.

The couple, who married only 10 months ago, are hoping the baby comes next year when their house in the countryside of London will be completely renovated. In fact, another source said that George and Amal is planning on building a nursery in their $15 million 17th century mansion.

"George is ready for this step and he thinks that Amal will be a great mother," said the insider. In preparation for the baby, the couple has reportedly been to a fertility clinic recently. "This is something they really want," a source reveals to Us Weekly.

While the actor remained a bachelor for a very long time before he married Amal, he had always been known to love spending time with his family. He constantly keeps in touch with his parents and sister. He is also often photographed having dinners with his in-laws, the most recent of which was in Hollywood at the Gatto Nero restaurant, E! Online reported.

Last June, George and Amal attended a Clooney family reunion in Kentucky, where the clan met the actor's bride for the first time, according to New York Daily News.

"He was really excited to introduce her to those who didn't go to the wedding or didn't know much about her," the report said. The two also met with George's old friends and the folks who knew the actor before he became a Hollywood hotshot.

Meanwhile, George recently put his Cabo holiday home for sale for $50 million and is also considering selling his Lake Como pad in Italy, according to Design & Trend.

According to Daily Mail, George decided to sell the Mexican house so that he would be able to "spend more time at home with his wife Amal." Giving up his bachelor homes may also be indicative of his desire to start a family with his wife, as the downsizing would mean they will only have to maintain two houses, in Los Angeles and London.
