After exiting "Castle," Stana Katic is poised to return to the small screen with a major role in AXN's new drama, "Absentia." The actress is reportedly in final talks to star in the crime thriller series.
Stana Katic looks to have found her new home post-"Castle." According to TVLine, "Castle's" former Detective Kate Beckett is in negotiations to be the lead star of AXN's new crime thriller drama as an FBI agent.
"Absentia," which received a straight-to-series order from Sony Pictures Television Network's AXN, follows the story of an FBI agent (to be played by Stana Katic), who was presumed dead after disappearing during a mission to hunt one of Boston's most notorious serial killers, per Deadline. The FBI agent was found in a cabin in the woods six years later with no memory of her past. Her husband has married another woman who was raising her son too. She becomes involve again a new series of murder.
"Absentia" is set to begin filming next year. The 10-episode series is written and executive produced by Matt Cirulnick, and will be directed by Oded Ruskin. Sony Pictures is handling the distribution in the U.S., wherein it is yet to be shopped.

Stana Katic was a fan favorite in ABC's "Castle" where she played as Kate Beckett for eight seasons. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Stana Katic was fired from "Castle" as the studio tried to cut costs just to bring the show into its ninth season. However, things did not go well, which led the "Castle" cancellation.
