Michael Cera is rumored to lend his voice to Robin in the upcoming "LEGO Batman Movie" while Will Arnett will voice the Dark Knight, Hollywood Reporter has learned.
According to E! News, the movie, directed by Chris McKay, will also feature a majority of the cast from "The LEGO Movie," which, according to Cinemablend, has earned $468 million worldwide.
The report also stated that Batman stole several scenes from "The LEGO Movie." The spinoff will also showcase Arnet's "usual self-confident bravado,"
Chris Miller, one of the scriptwriters for the upcoming spinoff, mentioned that the sequel is expected to show different Batman versions made over time. It will not only show that Batman is not a "self-absorbed minifig" as put by Slashfilm.
According to a separate report from Slashfilm, the first Batman movie aired in 1966 and was followed by Tim Burton in 1989, Joel Shumacher hit the screen with his own version of Batman long before Chris Nolan brought Batman into winning Oscar awards. Batman was seen just recently in the Justice League, fighting with and/or joining other superheroes.
The makers of the LEGO Batman will not only feature all developments in Batman in the making over the years, but will also show whether or not Batman can truly achieve happiness in his life despite being rich and handsome.
Performance from Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale and Ben Affleck for the Lego Batman are still yet to be validated, so far as reported by Slashflm.
Meanwhile, according to E! Online, Cera will be working on more projects soon as he is expected to do a role in the Seth Rogen's "Sausage Party," which will be out in theaters on August 12. Cera has also appeared in Netflix's "Arrested Development" as George Michael Bluth where he and Arnett starred together just recently.
