'The Walking Dead' Latest Episode Updates: Carol Meets King Ezekiel and Sidekick Shiva, And His Past

Any fan who watches "The Walking Dead" knows humor isn't a huge part of the said show, but this week was a little bit different. The episode started out with Morgan introducing Carol to the place they were living, where she was recovering: The Kingdom. She was then introduced to its leader, King Ezekiel, played by Khary Payton, and his sidekick Shiva - a tiger.

When she does meet the duo, in a movie theater no less, she is, of course, skeptical. She is still in fact Carol, even when she's injured and all. She was told that The Kingdom was a safe place for people to live, eat, drink, and heal as long as they help around.

Carol, as stubborn as she always is, was still determined to leave, regardless of Morgan's pleading. However, there was one person who did get to her. Who, you ask? Well, Ezekiel. Moments before leaving The Kingdom, he sat with Carol and told her his story: he was a zookeeper who lost everything when the apocalypse hit. He only managed to save a tiger among all the carnage.

Ezekiel then explained that he was the hero the group needed. After saving Shiva, she would never turn on him or hurt him, but he knew she'd intimidate the group. But, instead of using that as an advantage against them, Ezekiel became the leader they needed. With that, Ezekiel gave Carol a way to leave The Kingdom while staying. Ezekiel put her in a house right outside the gate. And yes, he did visit her. Hmm. I smell a little Carol and King Ezekiel romance stirring!

There was one thing that King Ezekiel's group had in common with the group Morgan and Carol were from: they're both against Negan's group. They met with them at one point in the episode and handed off eight pigs. Negan's henchmen didn't know something about those pigs, though. Those pigs were fed with walkers! Let's hope Negan doesn't feed Rick, Daryl, and everyone else in their group those pigs.
