'Will And Grace' Reboot In The Works: Everything Known So Far With The NBC Original Series

Coming on the heels of big small screen reboots is another award-winning series. Word is that Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Jack McFarland and Megan Mullaly will be coming back for the revival of "Will and Grace."

Entertainment Weekly shared the news that the NBC original series is in talks of getting a revival following a mini-reunion for an election ad in September. When the U.S. Elections 2016-related clip dropped, it had over 6 million views, NBC thought it was about time the four friends will make a comeback.

According to the publication's source, "Will and Grace" will comprise of a limited 10-episode series, and the network producer, Universal Studios Productions, is yet to make sure for the stars' and showrunners' commitment. Furthermore, there is no finalization as to where "Will and Grace" revival airs as it can air on NBC or can be bought by other networking giants, such as Netflix in the case of hotly anticipated "Gilmore Girls" reboot.

While a lot of fans are crazy over the possible resurrection of "Will and Grace," others are embracing it as a lukewarm idea. Per Salon, "Will and Grace"--which story revolves around a single woman, two queers and their friends--is not anymore needed in the wake of modern LGBT series like "Empire" and "Transparent." Apparently, the NBC original series was said to have an outdated view of LGBT culture's different facets.

Speaking with the Hollywood Reporter during the release of Hillary Clinton ad in September, Messing said that the idea of "Will and Grace" is something that she never closes her doors with. "Never say never," as what the lead actress in "Will and Grace" said.

The last episode of "Will and Grace" aired in 2006, and it premiered its first episode in the late '90s. Produced by Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, "Will and Grace" earned 16 Emmys and over 80 award nominations.
