"The Last of Us" 2 is likely to resume its development as the Naughty Dog is done with the Uncharted 4 DLC. The "The Last of Us" 2 is expected to be the sequel of the adventures of Ellie and Joel of the previous title but it was announced to have a new storyline.
In the recent reports, it shows that the developer Naughty Dog admitted that they were in the middle of brainstorming for the "The Last of Us" 2 until the team were pulled out to work with the Uncharted 4 DLC.
As per the Ecumenical reported, the game director and writer Neil Druckmann of "The Last of Us," has revealed that they already started working on the game design and gameplay of "The Last of Us" sequel. It's just happened that the process was eventually on hold due to the fact that Naughty Dog has started working on the upcoming single-player DLC for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
Since then, "The Last of Us" 2 development was halted and the only thing that is needed is to wait until the Uncharted 4 single-player DLC is done. Moreover, Neil Druckmann stated in an interview that "The Last of Us" 2 will likely to take around 2 to 3 years before the final release.
Druckmann added that they may be releasing some news and updates for "The Last of Us" 2 until 2018. This actually means the fans will need to play different games in the next 3 years before they can have a glance of "The Last of Us" 2.
As the Neuro Gadget said, since the release of the Uncharted 4 back in May this year, Naughty Dog has been very busy working on DLC's for the said game. As of now, since the new Uncharted 4 single-player DLC is ready to release, Naughty Dog can work on "The Last of Us" 2 full time.
