"Avatar" has become one of the most successful films in theaters that amazed the viewers with the kind of innovation on technology that has never been done in the past. The possibility of the second installment of "Avatar" happening is quite high, and James Cameron is working on something better.
The director of "Avatar," James Cameron, is currently pushing the limits on making a potentially 3D film without having to put glasses on, according to Cinemablend. The medium he intends to work on with "Avatar" will require a lot of tools such as workflow, HDR or high dynamic range and HFR or high frame rates. Cameron added he's bullish on 3D, and he thinks this kind of project can truly happen.
Glasses-free 3D technology already exists, however, using it for a movie theater is yet to be feasible. The use of 3D technology without wearing glasses will face problems such as accuracy of a location when an image is presented. For an individual, not using glasses for 3D is not a problem, but for a theater filled with hundreds of people, the real challenge is highly likely.
James Cameron is known for pushing the limits of technology when it comes to filmmaking and the challenges that have been faced by him were successful. Cameron is an Oscar winner and he has been spending time processing the next "Avatar" film which is set to be more complex. The director of "Avatar" has also shown his desires to the sequels of the film in HFR and will push forward to 3D new innovation, according to Screen Rant.
The group of "Avatar" is currently working on some concepts including a not so basic storyline. The following sequels of "Avatar" will focus on a "family saga" about Neytiri, Jake Sully and their children's dynamic with humans. "Avatar" franchise potentially will have four sequels.
The next installment of the film, "Avatar 2" is set to be more innovative and a better storyline to reach an even better success than its predecessor. "Avatar 2" is set to be released in theaters in December 2018. This will follow "Avatar 3" in 2020, "Avatar 4" in 2022 and the fifth installment, "Avatar 5" in 2023.
