"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 seems highly unlikely to take a chill pill from shaking things up in the medical drama anytime soon. Aside from the personal shockers from previous episodes, the 7th episode trailer presents a whole new threat altogether for the main characters: hospital restructuring and potential layoffs!
The latest trailer of "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 depicts residents fearing for their very jobs apart from all the relationship drama that hung thickly in the air.
Shortly after Leah Murphy awkwardly reentered the professional fold of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital and set her sights on Dr. Maggie Pierce and Bailey fought tooth and nail to keep Alex from being fired, Catherine is now bent on overhauling the resident's medical program. The ominous "Medicine is changing!" line came with a bang in the final scene of the episode 7 trailer for "Grey's Anatomy" season 13.
The shake-up is a twist of irony considering that Leah Murphy's return to "Grey's Anatomy" did not come easily. She was previously kicked out because of lackluster performance as a resident. Her involvement with Alex Karev and Arizona Robbins further complicated things. This latest development from Catherine's machinations will definitely have both the main characters and viewers on edge with its unpredictability.
Meanwhile, DeLuca and Jo's blossoming friendship took a dent in previous episodes at the beginning of "Grey's Anatomy" season 13. DeLuca is ambivalent seeing Jo's complicated relationship with Karev. Karev, meanwhile, had his own share of head-to-head collision with Bailey over a pregnant patient's fate. Despite the Bailey and Karev initial conflict, they managed to settle their differences and it cemented Bailey's decision not to fire Karev despite Catherine's constant needling after Karev's arrest.
Off camera, "Grey's Anatomy" stars have been making interesting statements and appearances lately. Ellen Pompeo signified her wishes to have Channing and wife Jenna Dewan Tatum guest on the show. Going strong on its thirteenth season, "Grey's Anatomy" is nominated for the category Favorite Competition TV Show in the 2017 People's Choice Awards.
