The second episode of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 2 shows some of the major characters making a positive leap in their lives, but with the exception of Rebecca (played by Rachel Bloom) who is still insanely obsessed with Josh (played by Vincent Rodriguez III). In the effort to impress her first love, the brilliant lawyer failed to keep a promise to Paula (played by Donna Lynne Champlin) and miserably tried (and failed) to be good at a ping pong. As fans would have expected, this episode is filled with great music that will make up for watching Rebecca's lousy ping pong moves.
As published in Refinery 29, Season 2 of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" features life-changing decisions for some such as Greg (Santino Fontana) who confessed to being an alcoholic to his friends. He becomes active in AA and decided to return to work, making Heather (played by Vella Lovely) and Kevin (Johnny Ray Meeks) mighty proud of him.
After the confession, the conversation between Greg and friends turned a bit awkward and it paves the way for "Greg's Drinking Song." The song successfully conveyed the struggles of an alcoholic in a sensitive and funny way. According to Yahoo TV, "Greg's Drinking Song" is this "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend's episode finest song.
Meanwhile, Paula makes a big leap by sending an application to a law school, hoping that Rebecca's recommendation letter will help. But of course, Rebecca will not be able to write any letter as she will be busy hanging out at the bar and playing ping pong for Josh to see. Anyway, Paula will sing the song, "Maybe This Dream," which according to the same Yahoo article sounds like a Disney song.
Then, there's Rebecca who after the unfortunate ping pong session wherein she sang, "My Ping Pong Girl "had a one-on-one talk with Greg. Turned out, the bartender wanted to see Rebecca happy with Josh.
Josh, on the other hand, finds Rebecca's ping pong attempt funny, and so the "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" said she should be with someone who knows how to show respect. With such an ending, the next episode of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" will surely be exciting.
