NBA News: Ray Allen Has Just Announced His Retirement; Allen Sent An Open Letter Via Player's Tribune

After 18 NBA seasons, Ray Allen announced his retirement at the age of 41. After 2 seasons of resting from the NBA, Allen has now officially stepped out of the court.

Ray Allen is known to be one of the league's premier outside shooter and until now, everyone believes that he still got a game. Allen was even linked to two rival teams, Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the past 2 years according to ESPN.

Ray Allen confirms his retirement as he writes a letter addressing to his younger self. In his letter, Allen stated that he writes to his younger self as a man who is completely at peace. As a fan, you might have a teary eye upon reading the whole letter that he published in the Player's Tribune.

A true winner, a true champion, those phrases that we can say about him would tell the world how valuable Ray Allen is. Allen puts his heart and soul on his beloved job, an athlete as a basketball player.

Ray Allen sets a couple of records during his stint in the NBA, that includes breaking the record of Reggie Miller as the top player with most 3-point field goals. Allen is a very dangerous outside shooter that even a hand on his face would not keep him out of the target.

He drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves back in the 1996 NBA Draft and was immediately traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for Stephon Murbury. Since day 1 of his rookie season, Ray Allen never fails to lose his composure and became the league's unfazed shooter in no time.

Allen was last seen playing with LeBron James in the Miami Heat and his last known shot was a tremendous game winning 3-point shot from the left elbow. Allen will be missed along with his Boston Celtics buddy Kevin Garnett.
