"The Walking Dead" Season 7 is definitely the most divisive yet. The first two opening episodes of the series gave a glimpse that the season and the series are now totally blood soaked. New philosophies have been introduced into the story-telling. The ratings of the show have already soared high. However, the cliff-hanger that the story finally solved brought in lots of criticism.
The story of "The Walking Dead" is now more focused towards character developments. This angle was appreciated by many. On the flip side, some find it boring too. Negan is stealing the entire highlight and he is now called the game-changer of a character. However, it is time that we pause and have a real look King Ezekiel who is the real game-changer.
Negan, as everyone would agree, is a sadist. He is a total control freak. He and his group would go to any limits to display strength and subjugate other groups. Now, when we look at Ezekiel, he is supremely manipulative and is totally dramatic. However, he does not enjoy conflict as much as Negan. He willingly gives Negan what he demands. He keeps this little arrangement a great secret from his people. This must be because he has their safety on his mind. Also, he might want to deviate them from the desire to revolt. They might even oppose the arrangement that he has with Negan, reported Vanity Fair.
Viewers are now mentally tuned to see Negan as the next big thing on the show. To add to that, Negan started re-defining the term 'villain.' He is huge and he is a huge tyrant. But is Negan that successful in his attempts? He managed to break Rick, but that has happened before too. Maggie still has the fighting streak left in her, reported Polygon.
It is a valid question to ask as to how much space separates Negan from the Governor. Negan seems to be creating terrors everywhere but Ezekiel is a more new concept. We have also seen that Payton delivered more genuine levity than the show has seen in years.
