Netflix confirmed the last journey of "Longmire" on Wednesday as the breathtaking Western has been renewed for its sixth and final 10-episode season. It can be recalled that Longmire, the A&E original series led by Robert Taylor aired 3 seasons before its cancellation in mid-August of 2014.
The cancellation agitated fans and launched one of the biggest show revival campaign in TV history. Deadline recalls that "Longmire" stood out as the most sought after original series in A & E history bagging a whopping six million viewers for each of its episodes despite its title being a little less interesting.
TV Line noted that Longmire was initially produced by Warner Horizon, an outside studio, which ultimately triggered the cable network to cut-off the show in 2014. Upon acknowledgment of the shows potential, Longmire returned with the needed little push from Netflix for its 4th, 5th and now 6th and final season.

Netflix's Original Content Vice President added that Netflix cannot be any less proud to be called the home of "Longmire" along with its numerous viewers that have been fascinated and drawn by the story.
The success of "Longmire" in Netflix demonstrated the netizen's scheme to demand for original shows that cater and serve the specific preference of a particular set of audience. "Longmire" is set in the country and is based on the best-selling mystery-filled novels of successful writer Walt Longmire.
The last season of "Longmire" will begin on 2017, airing in New Zealand, Canada, Australia and the United States.
