Sony Pictures Entertainment and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer released the latest teaser for the upcoming James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig and fans were not disappointed.
The over two-minute video of "Spectre" hinted James Bond's new mission in Mexico and Rome, where he eventually discovers an organization called the Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion (SPECTRE), according to BBC.
Below are the five crucial moments to the latest trailer for "Spectre":
1. Franz Oberhauser is revealed.
Award-winning actor Christoph Waltz plays the villain in this latest Bond film and his participation in the movie has long sparked rumors that he would be playing a familiar Bond baddie from previous films, Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
But the actor has constantly denied that this was the case, according to Slashfilm. Yet, while his character in "Spectre" is named Franz Oberhauser, many observers noted, based on the teaser, that the guy's demeanor and even his clothes are a lot similar to Blofeld. Could there be a ruse?
One other interesting fact to having Obenhauser as villain is that his connection to Bond is personal. The villain is rumored to be the son of Bond's former ski instructor and father figure, as per Mail Online.
2. There's a new M and he's not happy with Bond.
Ralph Fiennes assumes the role of the new M and the teaser opens with him scolding the British agent for having gone rogue. Lieutenant Colonel Gareth Mallory, better known as M, was introduced in the 2012 Bond film, Skyfall. As Wikia puts it, M has a "very bitter, cynical and sarcastic personality."Bond isn't fond of him either and once again, goes off track and even enlists the help of Q (played by Ben Whishaw) and Moneypenny (played by Naomie Harris) for his next mission. 3. That familiar soundtrack
At the beginning of the film, an updated version of the James Bond soundtrack first used in the 1969 Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" is heard, giving avid fans more reason to believe "Spectre" will be paying homage to Bond's roots, BBC reports.
4. There's a brief shot of that "Sherlock" villain.
Don't blink or you'll miss it, but there's a shot of Andrew Scott, who plays Moriarty in the "Sherlock" TV series, in the teaser. According to the same report, not enough is known about the character he's playing in "Spectre," but by the looks of it, he's aligned with the bad guys.
5. The Bond girls.
Of course, a Bond movie is not a Bond movie without the Bond girls, and in this film and they are plenty. Aside from Naomie Harris, the teaser gave glimpses of Italian actress Monica Belluci as Lucia Sciarra and Léa Seydoux as Madelein Swann, who, according to BBC, "may hold the clue to untangling the web of Spectre".
The film is set to debut in theaters in November.
