"Timeless" Season 1 cancellation news reveals that the new NBC drama may be cancelled after only one season due to low ratings. As TV Series Finale notes in its report, the latest episode of the show raked in a 1.10 rating in the 18-49 demographics, which is 16.03 percent lower than the previous ratings.

On average, "Timeless" Season 1 had a 1.43 rating or a total of 6.074 million viewers. The show experienced a gradual drop in its viewership since it premiered in October with 7.597 million viewers or a 1.83 rating.

This led to cancellation rumors that "Timeless" will not live on beyond season 1. This may also explain the network's recent announcement with regard to the show's current season.

According to TV Line, NBC recently announced that "Timeless" Season 1 will have additional episodes for this season. This means that the first season will have a total of 16 episodes.

While this initially came as good news to fans and viewers of "Timeless" Season 1, this made a lot of fans worried about the show. First, since the show is not doing well in ratings, the extended episodes may be the network's decision to give the show a proper ending.

However, the extended episode order on "Timeless" Season 1 may also be an indication that the network is optimistic about the show. As NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said in a statement, the show is expected to take "the audience emotionally to a completely different place and time."
