According to ITech Post, Take-Two, the parent company of 2K Games got surprised with how "Mafia 3" was received by retailers and how fast profits went up. The game topped NBA 2K titles and others.
Primarily, the reason for the success of "Mafia 3" could be attributed to its great storyline and new characters but the gameplay seems a little off. This apparently was not an issue to the players because they were excited to try the game.
Take-Two is pleased that the character gave the game a new reason why players should be eager to buy and experience the game. It was explained that "Mafia 3" is the race of Lincoln Clay. Clay is a black man and has proven that his race can indeed make a good character.
The game "Mafia 3" might be considered the best-selling game worldwide but some players think that it's not as good as expected. A lot is owed to the character of Lincoln Clay as he is expected to give a new story which eventually will make players embrace.

2K games is a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive. While the "Mafia 3" game is considered fast-seller, Take-Two announced during a call to investors that it has shipped 70 million copies of "Grand theft Auto 5." It is important to note that the 4.5 million copies were shipped to retailers and not sold through actual players.
There is still a downloadable content coming to "Mafia 3" as part of its season's pass. There is also reported mobile game based on the title "Mafia 3 Rivals" which is free to play.
