'Nintendo Switch' News & Update; Nintendo To Reveal More Details On January

Nintendo will be revealing details about its latest console the Nintendo Switch on January 12, 2017. Until then there will be no further news about the console from Nintendo.

The reveal will be live-streamed globally from Tokyo. The event will be giving us details about launch dates, available games, and the price.

There will also be a "Nintendo Switch Demo Event" on January 14 and 15 that, unfortunately, will only be held in Japan at the Tokyo Big Site. Considering the popularity this device is gathering you could expect long lines of eager fans waiting to try out the device.

As usual we could expect the first few games to be Nintendo exclusives, such as the "Mario" and "Zelda" franchises. According to Nintendo, some big names will be pitching in too. Square Enix, Capcom, and EA are but a few of the many names waiting to develop for the Nintendo Switch.

All we know of the device for now are based on that teaser video about the Nintendo Switch that was released just recently. The Nintendo Switch is a tablet-like device similar to the Wii U and here's what we know so far:

Detachable controllers, that could allow for 2 players to play, one on each controller. Compared to the Wii U, the Nintendo Switch is geared for better social gaming. Being able to take the device with you adds to the social aspect of the console.

Seamless transition from your big screen TV to your Nintendo Switch is also a cool feature, especially when someone else wants to use the TV. Local multiplayer, and perhaps online multiplayer as well, with multiple Nintendo Switch consoles.

All in all, the Nintendo Switch is console to watch for. We're keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that the big reveal will be a great start to new year, a great comeback from a great company.
