The AMD ZEN 8 Core Summit Ridge is already going through validation. With this being said, its release is underway and may be ready by January or February of 2017.
According to Guru 3D, the AMD ZEN 8 Core Summit Ridge will be the first ZEN product series to be released to the desktop consumer market. With how things are going at present, it is highly likely that it will be released Feb. 2017 as opposed to end of this year.
The AMD ZEN 8 Core Summit Ridge is reported to deliver more than 40 percent improvement in instructions per clock cycle compared to its predecessors. The processor is also to be introduced in the market in an 8-core, 16-thread system-on-chip for desktops.
The AMD ZEN 8 Core Summit Ridge is said to feature a unified AM4 socket with GPU "Bristol Ridge" APU counterparts. It will also feature DDR4 support and an expected 95W TDP. It is expected the Summit Ridge processor will have four integer units, two address generation units and four floating point units.
The possible for the slight delay of AMD ZEN 8 Core Summit Ridge could be the introduction of a high end X370 chipset which would coincide with the processor series release. The X370 will be housed in a socket AM4 motherboards and support DDR4 memory.
As added by WCCF Tech, it is reported that AMD ZEN 8 Core Summit Ridge is said to be part of the CES or Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, early 2017. Some reports still stick to AMD report for saying that the release is late 2016.
Desktop Zen CPUs are part of the Summit Ridge family. It is also said that it will be lined up to compete against Intel's Haswell-E and Broadwell-E products.
AMD ZEN 8 Core Summit Ridge, upon release, will be packed with new high performance Core design, Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) for High Throughput. It will also have new high bandwidth and low latency cache system. Official reports for its introduction for next year's CES has yet to be confirmed.
