The release of the trailer for the upcoming DC film, "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice," brought with it a slew of questions from loyal fans and followers of both superheroes. However, one of the most widely speculated aspect of the movie is the involvement of Batman's faithful sidekick - Robin.
Taking cue from the clues found in the latest trailer of "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice," some observers pointed out the presence of a costume clearly intended for Robin which was hung in a mocking manner inside the Batcave. Apart from the fact that the scene evoked rumors pertaining to a potential back story for the Dark Knight, it fueled the speculations regarding which version of Robin would make an appearance in the DC film.
Since the trailer showed the Robin costume to have been sprayed with graffiti by the Joker, some fans assume that the scene came after Bruce Wayne failed to rescue Jason Todd - one of the young men who played his faithful sidekick before eventually succumbing to death. The speculations were further fueled with the words derisively sprayed across Robin's suit which read, "Hahaha! Joke's on you, Batman."
Should the rumors prove to be correct, then the next issue fans are trying to figure out is the identity of the actor who will be chosen to play the vengeful Robin. According to Umberto Gonzales of Heroic Hollywood, sources have been quite certain that the young Robin will be played by none other than Zack Snyder's son, Eli, who also portrayed the younger version of Leonidas in the widely popular film, "300." At the moment, Eli - when not partaking in Hollywood A-list films - is a quarterback at Maranatha High Varsity Football. He is said to be set for college in the fall and will be studying film in UCLA.
Apart from "300," Eli also appeared in other films of his father such as taking on the roles of the young Rorschach "Watchmen" and a soldier in "Sucker Punch." However, landing the Robin role in the upcoming "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" will be the biggest and most popular part the young Snyder will play. According to Screen Rant, a flash back involving Ben Affleck's Batman and Jared Leto's Joker might be in store if the Jason Todd/Robin storyline is to be followed. Hence, Eli might have the chance to score major face time with "Suicide Squad" star Leto.
"Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" will hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
