Good news for "The Hunger Games" fans who are waiting for "Mockingjay Part 2" updates as Lionsgate has just released its full-length official trailer after a teaser trailer last month. The two-minute-and-34-second video clip is filled with suspense, force, action and power that would surely make every fan look forward to the day when the film premieres.
The film version of the last book in the YA series was split in two. The first part, "Mockingjay Part 1" failed to exceed or at least gain the same warm response from the audience compared to its predecessor, "Catching Fire." In fact, its earning worldwide was $100 million lesser than "Catching Fire," according to The Guardian.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" will try to revive the same audience they lost in the last installment as Jennifer Lawrence return to play the fierce girl on fire, Katniss Everdeen. Everdeen leads a revolution all the way to President Snow's doorstep. Yes, Katniss and her assembled forces are ready to make their final stand.
However, Snow is as prepared as Everdeen. He sets several traps and obstacles within his city, essentially turning the Capitol into an arena. Donald Sutherland, who portrayed President Snow, was able to maintain the aura of a calm yet dangerous villain as he warned Katniss, "I've been watching you and you watching me. My dear Miss Everdeen, make no mistake, the game is coming to its end."
In the trailer that debuted at the 2015 Comic-Con in San Diego, the lead star said, "We got one shot," hinting that the global phenomenon movie is indeed about to conclude. Katniss is desperate to destroy the walls Snow has built and bring him down when she uttered the words, "Nothing good is safe while he's alive. Snow has to pay for what he's done," according to E! Online.
Katniss has already survived two rounds in the game, and she is even more determined to conquer the third one, CinemaBlend has learned. Among the obstructions that Katninss and her troops need to face are the lizard mutt and black tar substance that spews out from the walls. The lizard mutt is the manifestation of Snow's fascination in messing around with mutations just as what he did in the first couple of films where one finds tracker jackers, wolf mutts and crazy monkeys.
As for Lawrence, who takes the lead for the said phenomenal series, the actress admitted that she still doesn't feel that the movie is about to end.
"I don't really feel like [the end] has happened yet. It's such a huge part of my life. These movies changed my life. I don't think I'll ever say goodbye. Katniss is a part of me," Lawrence said during the 2015 Comic-Con, according to The Guardian.
"The Hunger Games: Mokingjay Part 2" will premiere in Australia and the U.K. on November 19 and in the U.S. on November 20.
