Speculations are abound, as fans predict that Microsoft Surface Pro 5 may arrive early in 2017. There has been no official date yet. But experts agree that early next year, the tech giant will be unveiling the Microsoft Surface Pro 5. According to these reports, Microsoft Surface Pro 5 may be available in stores from January to March. This release date is expected to coincide with the unveiling of Surface Book 2 and will be promoted alongside the new Surface Phone.
This upcoming 2-in-1 PC tablet is expected to be one of the company's most powerful devices to date. Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be sporting the Surface Pen as well the as the usual cover keyboard. The Surface Pen has the capability to automatically charge itself when attached to the tablet.
There is no confirmed news yet about the device's internal storage. But it according to rumors, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is going to be at 128GB. The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is also reported to run using the sixth-generation chipsets of Intel Kaby Lake. However, there are some rumors that it will instead be powered by Intel Sky Lake processors.
Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is also said to have a whopping 16GB of RAM and have two display options: one will have 4k resolution and the other one 2k. The traditional USB 3.0 ports would be replaced with USB-C ports for faster, more efficient charging and file transfer.
According to TechRadar, the pricing history of Microsoft Surface Pro tablets rarely fluctuate each year, and following this pricing trend, the estimated price tag of Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will most probably retail for $899 (£749, AU$1,349) and increase from there depending on the specs' configurations and other bundled accessories.
