The up and coming Boston Celtics is establishing its status as a rising power in the NBA eastern conference and is picked as one of the teams that can challenge the reigning NBA champs, Cleveland Cavaliers.
Currently, the Celtics are without injured players Jae Crowder and all-star center, Al Horford but it didn't matter as the team continues to pile up wins against strong opponents even with a depleted lineup. The hard working, inexperienced and youthful roster of the Celtics is full of talent that is built for the current and future NBA, according to Bleacher Report.
In a recent report, the Boston Celtics are still looking for options to upgrade its lineup and there were speculations that the team is leaning towards a blockbuster trade this midseason. One of the targets of the team that is all-star Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans.
Davis is having a career season with the Pelicans, however, his team is still winless and Davis still has received no help from his teammates becoming more frustrated with the Pelicans. Having Anthony Davis teaming up with all-stars Isiah Thomas and Al Horford is an excellent scenario that can become an instant favorite to bump the Cavaliers on their way to another title, via Sports Rageous.
In another report by CSN Sports, center Nerlens Noel of the Philadelphia 76ers is open to the idea that his team is actively shopping him for a trade and the Celtics are one of the teams that were interested. Noel stated that this could be a good idea since Boston is his hometown.
The Sixers, on the other hand, have a big problem in their front court that includes Jahlil Okafor, Joel Embiid, and Nerlens Noel which will definitely have a problem in terms of playing time and eventually, the team needs to ship someone to another team.
For Anthony Davis, who is under contract with the Pelicans until 2020, people believe that it is only a matter of time before the all-star player will part ways with his current winless team. There were speculations that all-star center Demarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings who is also frustrated with his current team is included in the 3-way trade. The Celtics will get Davis, Cousins will be shipped to the Pelicans and the Kings will acquire multiple young assets and draft picks, via Inquisitr.
With these trade rumors surrounding these teams, a deal before the trade deadline would definitely help the Celtics create a lineup that can solidify the team's status as the number one challenger in the east for the Cleveland Cavaliers who is looking for a back-to-back title this season.
