Today, Floyd Mayweather is the richest athlete in the world. In a report from Forbes, the boxing champion tops the 100 highest paid athletes in 2014 with his total earnings amounting to $105 million. That amount comes straight from his winnings or salary as he has no endorsements. The same report suggests that Mayweather is the first athlete, apart from Tiger Woods, to earn $100 million in the Forbes' annual list of highest-paid athletes.
In a report from International Business Times, Mayweather's estimated worth prior to his battle with Manny Pacquiao for The Fight of the Century was $240 million. A report from ESPN claimed that Floyd will make between $220 million and $230 million for the said fight.
The report suggests that Mayweather earns in just 36 minutes almost the same wealth Tim Duncan earned in his 18-year basketball career with the San Antonio Spurs worth $235 million.
Indeed, Mayweather is a wealthy man, but the good news is, he is generous enough to share his wealth to his men. Among those who enjoyed his generosity is his protégé, Ashley Theopane, who just received a new car worth $30,000 from the boxing champ, according to TMZ.
The car is not a Bugatti or a Ferrari, but it was more than what Theopane expected and he was really overjoyed. According to Ashely, he was just chilling at home when he received a call from Floyd to meet him at a dealership.
When he arrived at the place, the pound-for-pound king handed him the keys to a fully loaded 2015 Chrysler 300. Theophane admitted that he needed a car, however, it really surprised him that his mentor was taking it in such a way.
Ashley said it was perhaps a reward from Mayweather after he won five straight fights. The boxer added, "Floyd makes so much money. He likes to take care of his team," TMZ has learned.
Theophane is among the WBC super-middleweight champion under Mayweather Promotions, along with him are Badou Jack, Mickey Bey, J'Leon Love, and Ishe Smith, according to THA Boxing Voice.
Mayweather Promotions has produced a number of respectable pros and former champions. However, none, as of the moment, has showed the same skills and power as Floyd, which might leave the boxing ring in time. However, the team is in search for the next Mayweather as they encourage their fighters to keep working hard and inspire them with the mantra that there is no limit in what they can do.
The team is positive that soon they will find another boxer that would match Floyd, "Mayweather Promotions has always done record-breaking numbers and our ultimate goal is to find the next Floyd Mayweather. With all of the talent out there, it will soon happen," THA Boxing has learned.
