AMD Radeon Pro 400 Series Officially Launched After MacBook Pro Release! Thinnest Processor NOT Friendly For Gaming?

The AMD Radeon Pro 400 Series has been officially launched after the release of MacBook Pro back on October 27. The thinnest of its kind, the AMD Pro 400 Series is packed with unparalleled power.

According to Gadgets 360, AMD Radeon Pro 400 Series is targeted more at creative professional work more than gaming. The AMD Radeon Pro 400 Series is designed to be power efficient and is in line with Apple's newest addition to their products.

There are three models in the line-up for the AMD Radeon Pro 400 Series. These are AMD Radeon Pro 450, AMD Radeon Pro 455 and AMD Radeon Pro 460. Both the AMD Radeon Pro 450 and AMD Radeon Pro 455 have 2GB of VRAM as standard two base configurations of 15-inch MacBook Pro model.

AMD said that the new AMD Radeon Pro 400 Series are based on the current generation Polaris architecture. It has the same components of Radeon RX 480, 470 and 460. The AMD Radeon Pro 400 Series also use the 14nm fabrication process. It delivers power and cost savings because of the size compared to the previous products AMD launched.

AMD Radeon Pro 400 Series all operate at 35W. This allows for quiet and efficient cooling within a slim laptop as MacBook Pro. Peak performance of the series ranges from 1 Teraflop to 1.85 Teraflops.

As added by HNGN, it is known that with AMD Radeon Pro 400 Series might now be recommended for those who are heavy on gaming. Gamers might struggle with an acceptable frame rate on the device. It is required that NVIDIA GTX 1080 is what the device has for optimum performance.

AMD reveals that it has employed an elaborate new technique. This new technique is called die thinning which resulted in the thickness of each silicon wafer from 780nm to 380nm.

It is important to note that AMD Radeon Pro 400 Series may deliver good performance but not for gaming. There are better versions of such is available if a user is into gaming and others that are heavy on graphics.
