Fans and followers of the hit crime drama, "Criminal Minds" went on an Internet frenzy when the CBS TV series subtly hinted on the potential involvement of Hollywood A-lister Jackie Chan in the project. While no official confirmation, or statement, has been released regarding the matter, the lack of information did not deter viewers and social media users to speculate on the said possibility.
The possibility of Chan's involvement came to light due to "Criminal Minds'" social media account's own doing. In a Twitter post earlier this week, the show wrote, "@EyeOfJackieChan said 'coffee is a language in itself' @ the 2006 opening of his coffee franchise #CriminalMinds" This social media post, along with the fact that Episode 18 of Season 10 of "Criminal Minds" featured Dr Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) saying the exact words in one of his scenes, unsurprisingly sparked rumors on the potential inclusion of Chan either as a cast member or in cameo form. The social media post was made in an effort to promote the rerun of the episode which was first aired on March 25, 2015.
The said episode, titled "Rock Creek Park," revolved around the story of a missing woman who is identified as the wife of a high profile congressman, according to TV.com. Throughout the search for the politician's spouse, the Behavioral Analysis Unit unearthed a number of disturbing secrets beneath the veneer of sophistication and power wielded by the enemies of the congressman. These adversaries were later on considered as possible suspects for the abduction, or even the murder of the congressman's missing wife.
As the story progressed, it was later on revealed that the person who abducted the wife is none other than the congressman's own mother. In a confrontation with the kidnapped victim, she revealed that the reason she kidnapped her is her disapproval of her son's choice of wife. To guarantee that her son chooses a "suitable" girl, preferably one she truly wants him to marry, the congressman's mother plotted to kill the first wife. The plot eventually collapsed when the investigation of the victim's disappearance became a threat to her son's political career.
Meanwhile, another piece of exciting news linked to the "Criminal Minds" cast made headlines recently. According to Us Weekly, AJ Cook, the actress who plays Jennifer Jareau, recently gave birth to her second child with husband Nathan Andersen. The newest addition to their growing family is named Phoenix Sky Andersen. The bouncing baby boy reportedly weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and measured 20.5 inches and came to the world on July 23 at 5:49 am.
