Hulk Hogan's Daughter Shares Poem & Defends Dad: 'We Can All Make Mistakes'

Hulk Hogan found himself in hot water when the transcript of an audio clip of his racist remarks surfaced online and immediately became viral. The clip, which was lifted from one of his intimate conversations with then lover Heather Clem, the former wife of Bubba "The Love Sponge," featured the WWE star ranting about the dating choices of his daughter, Brooke Hogan. In the said transcript, Hulk Hogan uttered the n-word a number of times and appeared to be extremely disgusted by his daughter's taste in men - particularly those from the black community.

While the rest of the world decided to dismiss Hulk Hogan as yet another racist man who seem to be unable to keep up with the change in society, his daughter, Brooke, stood up for him in a heartbreaking poem posted in her official Facebook account. The prose, titled "If You Knew My Father," became Brooke's way of seeking understanding from the public in relation to the racist remarks said by her dad years ago. Pointing out that no one is perfect and everyone commits mistakes, the 27-year-old pleaded with her fans and followers to not be so quick to judge and dismiss her father.

"Human isn't perfect," Brooke wrote, "and perfect is not he." She continued, "But I can tell you one thing, it's just not what it seems." She also noted that one of the reasons Hulk Hogan uttered the racist remarks was his emotionally state at that time - that is, he was "hurting" when he said those, so the pain blurred his thinking and failed to allow him to "think logically."

According to Radar Online, the transcript of the audio clip disclosed how Hulk Hogan despised the possibility of his Brooke having relations with a certain black man. While his emotional state and intentions at that time could be up for debate, there is no doubt that the former WWE superstar held a grudge against the colored boyfriend of his daughter as he repeatedly used the n-word, along with a string of expletives, as an insult to the person.

However, Brooke believes that her father deserves a second chance. In her poem, she pointed out how her father cared so much for all of his fans. "If you knew my father, you would know how hard he fought...and the way it brought a smile to people light, medium and dark," wrote Brooke in one of the lines of the poem, presumably referring to the way Hulk Hogan catered to everyone regardless of skin color.
