With the expected September 2015 unveiling of the next-generation Apple iPhone, new leaks provide insights on what consumers can expect. In a new report by iDigital Times, the upcoming iPhone 6S -- which follows the iPhone 6 and its larger variant, the iPhone 6 Plus - will be featuring internal upgrades rather than a physical facelift.
"The iPhone 7 is expected to come with an all new physical design refresh while the iPhone 6s will improve internal specs for speed improvements, faster camera and possibly new features," noted the online publication.
New leaked images that show the front panel of the upcoming smartphone looks exactly like the current because the 6S is speculated to feature internal improvements with the design overhaul being saved for the following iPhone release. Should there be any size changes, sources report that it will be very minor to the point that it won't affect accessories or official size dimensions.
Relatedly, iDigital Times adds that a possible change we could see in the iPhone 6S is the durability. The device is said to come with a stronger body to prevent a recurring "bendgate" issue which plagued Apple during the first few weeks of release. The Cupertino-based firm is said to be reinforcing its slim housing frame to offer more support and protection against bending.
