'Mortal Kombat X' News Update: New Characters & Other Updates From Kombat Pack 3 DLC Delayed Because Of 'Injustice 2'?

The Kombat Pack 3 downloadable content for "Mortal Kombat X," which reportedly includes new characters, is unlikely to be released anytime soon. NetherRealm Studios has not released an official statement for the reason behind the obstruction; however, rumors suggest that the cause of the delay is the development of a sequel for "Injustice: Gods Among Us."

Ed Boon, the "Mortal Kombat X" game's co-creator has reportedly unconfirmed all the development for Kombat Pack 3, as per GameNGuide. Speculations suggest that NetherRealm Studios has turned its attention to "Injustice 2." The Kombat Pack 3 DLC was announced earlier in September after a sneak peek of the add-ons.

Although no official date is set, "Injustice 2" is rumored to be released in the first half of 2017, while the "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 3 DLC content is anticipated to be made available sometime thereafter. However, a report also suggests that the downloadable content could be released a quarter of a year after a franchise is released. "Injustice 2" is believed to be made available early next year, so it is also possible that Kombat Pack 3 DLC will be released late next year or early in 2018.

It was earlier preempted that "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 3 would be revealed previously in October during the EVO Sporting Event. Nonetheless, it did not happen and no announcement was made regarding the downloadable content during the event.

However, Boon did not promise a "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 3 DLC reveal in the event, but he did tweet about MKXL news. As a result speculations suggested that he was going to unveil the DLC in the said event. Nevertheless, the rumored character inclusions for the said DLC pack are very interesting. What do you think?
