Bandai Namco has just released the fourth entry of the video game adaptation of the premiere anime SAO game series. The 4th title is Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, which has been already launched for the PlayStation 4 a few weeks ago.
According to the Business Wire, the new SAO game is now available across the Americas exclusively for Sony PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Players will then be the pilot of Kirito as he makes his way in the virtual MMORPG world of Ainground.
In Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, players will be transported to another gaming world, the Sword Art: Origins. During the quests and mission throughout the SAO game, players will meet numerous characters along the way that will aid them on their journey as Kirito.
These characters are known as the Non-Playable Characters or the NPC's. From the name its self, it is classified as characters with artificial intelligence programmed to do a certain task. Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization will be using the dialog-branching just like most of the current RPG games do, and will be able to interact with the NPCs in several ways.
Aside from the single campaign mode, Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization will also feature a multiplayer mode. In the new SAO game multiplayer mode, a total of 4 players can work together and finish a quest as a team or known as a party.
PlayStation Lifestyle cited that the Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization is the 4th video game title for the last 4 years. The trend suggests new SAO game release every year.
Sword Art Online is a Japanese novel, which was translated to manga and gained its popularity when it was adapted into an anime series. Aside from Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization that Bandai Namco released, SAO is now rumored to have a movie adaptation.
