"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" fans, here's an exciting news.
CD Projekt, the maker of "The Witcher" series, finally announced that a New Game Plus mode is going to be added to "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt."
Revealed in the maker's Twitter post, this new downloadable content, or DLC, will serve as the final addition the game. However, the makers reveal that it won't be out this week as they need more time to prepare for its launch.
According to an article in Forbes by Erik Kain, "New Game Plus" (or NG+) is a common feature in many rol-playing games like "The Witcher."
"It gives players the opportunity to ramp up the difficulty in their next playthrough of a game, and possibly even find new and better items or monsters," he says. "In some games... NG+ (and beyond) not only ramp up the difficulty, but actually add new monsters and twists to boss fights."
So far, there are no details regarding the NG+ DLC for The Witcher 3. But we can expect that it would enlarge this already large game.
"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," is a the third installment in "The Witcher" series. Following up after "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings," it may be the "best open world game ever made," according to a separate review of Erik Kain in Forbes.
In "The Witcher," players take on the role of Geralt of Rivia, a Witcher who kills monsters for a living, as read in Gog.com. Geralt was "given special training" to be the best at what he does and is armed with potent elixirs to complete his tasks.
In "Wild Hunt," players traverse through a world full of humans of varying social classes, while getting rid of monsters and beasts, on a mission to find the "child of prophecy," one who could "bring the world to a final end," say The Witcher website. "The fate of the world lies with [players]."
Aside from the usual bashing of monster, players will make also hard in-game choices; tinker and experiment with various weapons, potions, skills and armors; make allies with characters that could help; have fun with minigames and will even choose what to do with Geralt's love life.
This game "is one of the most sprawling, magnificent solo RPGs ever made," says Erik Kain in Forbes.
The New Game Plus mode DLC official release date is still to be announced
