There are photos circulating online bearing the "Taken" star Liam Neeson in his frail frame. The photo was taken last week in New York City and the actor appears weak and sickly in the shots, which stirred concern to many people.
The "Ted 2" star was dressed down. He wore sweatpants and covered his long graying wispy hair with a baseball cap. His face was bony, haggard and desolate. Check out the photo below.
It was a dramatic transformation for Neeson that he is almost unrecognizable compared to his alert and butt-kicking character as CIA operative Bryan Mills in his hit action series "Taken," according to Yahoo! News.
What surprises the people even more is that, the actor was spotted visiting The Ronald McDonald House in New York only weeks earlier and he was still in good shape, looking very healthy and far from what was captured in the photos. His body and looks by then was closer to the Liam Neeson most know and see on the big screen.
Neeson's representative was quick to clear the speculations that the actor was sick. The rep explained that the 63-year-old actor has changed his diet and is more active. Neeson's weight loss could be attributed to doing more exercises which he started about a year ago, TMZ reports. The rep continued, "it's just an unflattering pic."
News Australia via Inquisitr confirmed that the father of two was indeed looking thin, but he is well, "He has just completed work on one film and starts another in September. [He's] never been healthier."
Well, that is good news and fans hope that is the real case. However, it is interesting at how Liam admitted that he wishes to retire soon and is likely to end his career within the next two years. Recently, the actor was quoted saying, "Maybe two more years – if God spares me, and I'm healthy," Inquisitr has learned.
In a separate report from Inquisitr, the Irish actor just celebrated his birthday last month. In real life, Neeson is a bit calmer compared to the characters he portrayed in the action films. Before making it big in Hollywood, he participated in amateur boxing and worked for Ireland's beer company.
Fans might be surprised by this, but despite playing the dangerous stunts in his action thriller movies, the actor has a severe fear of heights, according to the report.
Neeson is currently living in New York and just recently became an American citizen.
