Reports suggest that former Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight titleholder, Miesha Tate is looking to avenge her two previous losses to Ronda Rousey in a third and final fight inside the Octagon. Recent reports also put forward rumors about Rousey's alleged retirement if she loses at UFC 207 against Amana Nunes.
In an exclusive interview with TMZ, Tate says she wants one more chance to beat Rousey before she retires. In the same interview, she states that she believes Nunes is currently the best fighter in their division. She added that she would be glad to be among the last fighters Rousey faces in the Octagon before she retires.
The Rousey-Tate rivalry dates back to Strikeforce where Rousey defeated Tate to obtain the Strikeforce Bantamweight Title. In UFC 168, they fought again for the UFC Bantamweight Championship. Rousey won both championship bouts via armbar submission.
Had Tate won over Nunes in their last bout, a third fight between her and Rousey would have been a reality. When she lost that fight, her chances of being inside the Octagon with Rousey for one more time are dim, according to Sportsrageous. However, Tate says that she is learning and trying to get better after her loss to Nunes. Furthermore, Tate believes that Nunes will be able to defend her title against Rousey on UFC 207.
