Last Thursday, Jimmy Kimmel surprised viewers with a bonus edition of "I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy 2016."
In what has become an annual prank, Jimmy Kimmel has kicked off the start of November by asking parents to pull a hilarious prank on their kids, telling them they ate all the Halloween candy, record their reactions and send them into Jimmy Kimmel Live! The 2016 responses ran the gamut from, "It's OK, we'll get more next year," to a shrieking, "I HATE YOU!"
According to ABC, Jimmy received a record number of videos this year -- well over a thousand participants for the Halloween candy prank. It was a mammoth undertaking to sort through all of them, but he narrowed them down to the best of the best.
After his once-a-year surprise bit has posted, the late night host aired a few more late submissions.
According to E News, Kimmel said that he could not have been clearer about the deadline, but they got so many strong submissions after their deadline, and they didn't feel right about ignoring them.
For the sixth year, kids per usual, were in dire straits, going crook, fit to be tied and a few proved they still loved their parents even if they gobbled up all their treats.
One kid was on the ragged edge of tears but still managed to respond 'I love you' to his mom.
One little girl went into full temper tantrum mode-knocking chairs over and flipped things around. Another child methodically searched everywhere in the room before having a meltdown when it turned up empty.
A boy was so silent after hearing the sad news, and his mother worriedly asked why. The child replied that he was just trying to calm down while clutching his chest in misery.
According to E News, one little boy haughtily asserted that he knew that it was the Jimmy Kimmel trick and used to be his favorite show. Indeed, you can't hoodwink a die hard fan!
