George RR Martin Upset Over US Election Results; Slams Trump as "Worst President in American History"

George R.R. Martin, a staunch supporter of Hillary Clinton, did not take the results of the 2016 U.S. Elections lightly. The "Game of Thrones" author slammed the newly elected President Donald Trump in typical "GoT" fashion.

In his blog post, Martin called Trump "the least qualified candidate ever nominated by a major party" and to be "the worst president in American history". And then, the author cleverly alluded to a famous line in his best-selling novel turned HBO series, "Game of Thrones".

"Winter is coming. I told you so." Martin warned readers of his blog. He also posted an image of an upside down American flag on the blog post.

Martin had reportedly delayed writing the final two books of the "Game of Thrones" series in order to join Clinton's campaign trail. According to CNN, Martin surprised fans and Clinton supporters in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on Nov. 5 to encourage early voting.

However, now that the presidential election is over, rumors abound that Martin may not just delay the much awaited "Game of Thrones" Book 6 "The Winds of Winter," but have it canceled entirely. Publisher Random House told Entertainment Weekly that there is no set publication date for the novel yet.

Martin has openly criticized Trump on his website, from condemning Trump's ad tactics of presenting false information about Clinton, to promoting works of other anti-Trump supporters. Prior to the election, Martin praised filmmaker Michael Moore's latest documentary "Trumpland," calling the film entertaining and inviting his blog readers to watch it. However, his recent blog posts have become darker due to the results of the election.

How did you find George R.R. Martin's "Game of Thrones" comment on Trump's win? Do you agree that winter is coming? Share your thoughts below!
