There have been talks that Apple is thinking of stopping the production of the iPad Air portfolio. It's been two years since the first tablet was announced and as of late, there seems to be no word as to the future of the iPad Air.
So far, Apple was able to release new iPhones and a MacBook Pro, although they also brought a ton of controversies about their new designs. The iPad Air meanwhile is gathering dust in a quiet little nook in Apple's HQ in Cupertino. While it's fate is not entirely a closed book, recent rounds are saying that something is brewing, and it's making the Air cool again.
Mobile And Apps noted that the next iPad Air might feature a 9.7inch display real estate with 4K resolution. Others claim that Apple is increasing the Air's display "up to 401ppi", or something like the iPhone 6S Plus. In addition, the iPad Air 3 will be "sleeker" than the iPad Air 2 at 5 millimeters as compared to the latter's 6.1 millimeters.
Sources familiar to the iPad Air 3 is likewise waiting on a dual-camera setup. It is said to include an 8megapixel primary snapper with LED flash and a 2.1megapixel front facing clicker with "Retina-flash".
On the inside, the Apple iPad Air 3 could also sport an A10 processor, just like the one used in the iPhone 7 and 7S Plus. This will make the Air 3 a power-saving tablet and a workhorse if it needed be. There is also a possibility that the tablet will support 3D Touch, which was again introduced to the iPhone. A fingerprint scanner is also in the works, as well as rumors that it will also ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack.
The iPad Air 3 was supposed to be launched alongside the iPhone SE in March. Experts are now pointing to a March 2017 release as they are considering next year as the resurgence of the tablet market.
