2016 Microsoft Surface Book Review: Device Specs, Features Hard To Beat; Better Than Apple MacBook Pro?

The verdict is out according to the current Microsoft Surface Book Review 2016 and the competition will find its features as a tough opponent. The Surface Book is being hailed as the "ultimate laptop" by Microsoft.

The two-in-one Microsoft Surface Book works well as a detached pen tablet, maintains fast performance and has a well-designed case, a relaxed keyboard, and an excellent battery life. Microsoft has started shipping out an updated version of the Surface Book and it comes equipped with a larger battery that can run up to 16 hours, a second fan, and a doubled graphics performance.

Microsoft's Surface Book that has a Performance Base is the updated version of last year's model. It's priced at $2,399 and its design has an iconic look specifically engineered for a laptop with a detachable tablet screen.

When compared to Apple's MacBook Pro, the Microsoft Surface Book is more practical and can be used as an everyday tool. It has stylus modes and full tablet capability which is perfect for creative work. The Surface Book also included the legacy ports like the SD card slot and the full-size USB 3.

All the improvements are under the hood and the exterior design of the Microsoft Surface Book is similar to the first model. Just like other second-generation devices, the new Surface Book is more of a fine-tuning of the original and skips the definition of a new product.

The Microsoft Surface Book was cleverly designed with a new fulcrum hinge, comes with a backlit keyboard, and a magnesium case that's pretty solid when compared to other laptop/tablet hybrids. This makes the Surface Book a striking piece of hardware engineering that can blow away most of Microsoft's competitors.

After two generations, the fulcrum hinge on the Microsoft Surface Book is still pretty to look at but it doesn't necessarily give much of a functional advantage. There's also a specific button located on the function row which is next to the delete key that allows the detachment of the screen from the keyboard.

After the whole process, users can use the Surface Book as a tablet they can take anywhere or re-attach the display to fold it back to be used as a tabletop surface. All this attention to detail is the main reason why the Microsoft Surface Book is one of the top-selling laptop/tablet hybrids in the market today.
