Fans of the new NBC show "Timeless" have been fearing the cancellation of the show. But fans should be happy to know that NBC has now ordered three more episodes of the series, equaling to 16 episodes for "Timeless" Season 1. There have also been spoilers released for episodes 7 and 8!
The viewers for "Timeless" Season 1 did not reach what the network expected at first, and rumors of cancellation were rampant. But it seems that the show is picking up more viewers, as according to Three If By Space, "Timeless" has averaged a 2.7 rating in adults 18-49, making it the top-rated Monday drama so far this season in 18-49.
The science fiction series has just finished its fifth episode titled "The Alamo", where the team had to travel to the year 1836. The team is composed of Lucy Preston (Abigail Spencer), a history professor, Rufus Carlin (Malcolm Barrett) and Wyatt Logan (Matt Lanter). The main purpose of the trio in "Timeless" Season 1 is to go after criminal Garcia Flynn (Goran Višnjić), who stole a time machine and seeks to change American History.
"Timeless" Season 1 reviews have been positive so far, with newspapers such as The Washington Post and Los Angeles proclaiming it as a "high-minded adventure thriller" and "thought-provoking". It looks like the ratings are catching up to the good review and more people are now watching the show.
"Timeless" Season 1 has seen the actors traveling to different important events in American history, such as the Hindenburg disaster in 1937, the assassination of Abraham Lincoln in 1865 and most recently in the Battle of the Alamo.
Blasting News reports that episode seven and eight of "Timeless" season 1 will have the team traveling to very different places. "Timeless" Season 1 episode 7, titled "Stranded" will bring the team to 1754, and episode 8 will bring the team to the Apollo 11 mission, where they will try to capture Flynn, who is set on sabotaging the mission.
With three additional episodes, the cancellation of "Timeless" Season 1 seems to be old news. If more viewers tune into the series, maybe we can expect more adventures in "Timeless" season 2?
