"An American Werewolf in London" has been released 35 years ago but it still bites after a grisly transformation of its sequence. It is a classic 1981 horror comedy movie that still has an enduring gross out factor.
According to a report in Maxim, "An American Werewolf in London" is actually hyped considering the talent behind the movie. Just come to think of the movie being produced for Universal Pictures by Robert Kirkman who is also behind of "The Walking Dead".
On the other hand, Max Landis, who is the son of the original director John Landis, will be writing and directing the "An American Werewolf in London" film. According to a report in Deadline, Andy Trapani who is also a producer was hustling to obtain the project for almost 10 years.
Furthermore, the formula in recreating the "An American Werewolf in London" movie is just simple. The original film is about two American graduates who went to England to travel but unfortunate circumstances happened to them- one was mauled and killed and the other was bitten by a mad wolf.
The survivor, however, discovered that he was morphing into a werewolf and the situation when Piccadilly Circus was terrorized in his werewolf form lead to awe and shock.
However, the movie created by John Landis was proven to be successful, not to mention, highly innovative with its stylish pop cultural phenomenon. There is something in the "An American Werewolf in London" movie that makes it award winning compared to other films.
"An American Werewolf in London" obtained an Academy Award for best make-up. Indeed, "The Wizard of Oz" in 1939, "The 7 Faces of Dr. Lao" in 1964, "Planet of the Apes" in 1968 and many more won numerous honorary awards, but the werewolf was made to be innovative that makes it even more impressive.
The phenomenal work of Rick Baker is a film legend that provides for an incredible vision of "monster in the midst of the contemporary" transforming man to wolf and vice versa.
The release date of the movie, however, was not yet released. Check back with us at Parent Herald for the latest update on the "An American Werewolf in London" remake.
